The College Porters know everything there is to know about what is going on in the College. Whatever you need, they will either be able to tell you what you need to know, or whom to ask.
The porters have everything you could want, particularly stamps, washing tokens and lightbulbs. They are a friendly bunch in their bowler hats, so give them a wave and a smile! In the lodge you can also find books to write in maintenance needs and to sign out when you are absent from college. There is also a free phone for taxis. The Porters' Lodge also contains your pigeonhole. It's a good idea to check this at least once a day as College will often send you important information via it. Your post will also be delivered there. Any large packages will be kept by the porters, and you will be notified via a note in your pigeonhole. E-mails: headporter@sel or porters@sel Under no circumstances should you ask them to carry your luggage. |
